1. The Babysitter (2017)

Rotten Tomatoes: 69% IMDb: 6.4/10

The reason of including The Babysitter in this list of Halloween movies on Netflix is firstly because this is a Netflix original movie and secondly it perfectly fits the criteria too. You cannot call it a typical horror movie but yes it definitely has the essence of horror comprising with comedy too.

This is a very latest October, 2017 release and based on the theme of teen horror. The movie is directed by McG and stars Samara Weaving, Judah Lewis, Bella Thorne and other actors.

This movie is about 12 years old Cole Johnson and his babysitter Bee. One day when Cole’s parents goes out Bee gathers her high school friends in Cole’s house. And in the middle of playing Spin the Bottle, Bee kills one of her friends under the demonic cult.

Now, it’s the story of Cole trying to save himself from Bee and her crazy killing friends. With the pinch of humor there are a lot of creepy scenes in this movie. Although the movie did not get that great reviews but it is worth watching on Halloween.

2. Curse of Chucky (2013)

Rotten Tomatoes: 82% IMDb: 5.7/10

If there is any movie which has the capability to give you nightmares for the rest of your life then it is Curse of Chucky. This is a supernatural slasher movie directed by Don Mancini. The movie is the 6th installment of the Child’s Play franchise and also amongst the best Halloween movies too.

The plot of this movie is set 25 years after the first incident and now Chucky(Brad Dourif) mysteriously arrives through a mail to the house of Nica Pierce played by Fiona Dourif.

Things starts to move and the same day Nica’s mother Sarah found dead and was considered as suicide. Later on Nica’s sister and her family arrives in their house and the string of murders starts to takes place out there.

Being extremely horror, the movie can be the perfect pick for Halloween movies on Netflix. The movie is also followed by the next installment by the Cult of Chucky which released recently in 2017 only.

3. Tales of Halloween (2015)

Rotten Tomatoes: 79% IMDb: 5.5/10

I think after the Curse of Chucky, you really need a match of comedy and horror for sure. So, I listed this movie Tales of Halloween under the category of Halloween movies on Netflix. This is an anthology movie which is consisted of ten segments which are interlocked with each other.

The plot of this movie is set in the suburbs of American town which is terrorized with aliens, ghouls on Halloween night as a DJ, Adrienne adds her commentary on it.

There are ten stories in it which are Sweet Tooth, The Night Billy Raised Hell, Trick, The Weak and the Wicked, Grim Grinning Ghost, Ding Dong, This Means War, Friday the 31st, The Ransom of Rusty Rex and Bad Seed.

All the stories are interlinked and they are consisted of Halloween themes like man eating pumpkin, candies, tricks and weird treats and many more. Tales of Halloween is a nice piece of cinema on this Halloween to kill some time.

4. Corpse Bride (2005)

Rotten Tomatoes: 83% IMDb: 7.4/10

This is the time to pick the perfect entertaining movie for the list of Halloween movies on Netflix. Corpse Bride is a type of stop motion animated musical fantasy movie which is directed by Tim Burton and Mike Johnson. The movie is based on the characters created by Tim Burton and Carlos Grangel.

The plot of this movie is set in the imaginary Victorian village in the Europe. The main characters of this story are Victor (Johnny Depp) and Emily (Helena Bonham Carter).

This is the story of Victor and Victoria who are about to tie the knot under an arranged marriage set up. However, nervous Victor rehearse his vows to a lonely place and put the finger in the tree branch and unknowingly get wedded to the dead bride Emily.

This is from where the story takes off and turned into something really funny and hilarious. For someone, who loves to watch movies online Corpse Bridge is an amazingly interesting movie for them and especially for the Halloween.

5. 1922 (2017)

Rotten Tomatoes: 85% IMDb: 6.5/10

1922 is a horror drama movie which is directed by Zak Hilditch. This movie is based on the Stephen King’s novella of the same name. 1922 is the original release of Netflix from the year of 2017.

As everyone know that Stephen King’s novels are popular for horror fictions, 1922 makes a perfect example for this too and hence I included it in the list of Halloween Movies on Netflix.

The plot of this movie is about a man named Wilfred “Will” James who goes to a hotel only to write about the confession of a crime he did in 1922 and then what follows is the flashback of his story.

This is the time when Wil is married to Arlette and they have a son Henry too. Wil over some conflict with wife regarding disagreement of selling their property and custody of son, kills her along with his son. And now the story followed by the murder investigation of Arlette.

6. Coraline (2009)

Rotten Tomatoes: 90% IMDb: 7.7/10

Coraline is a 3D dark fantasy horror animated movie which is my next pick for the category of Halloween movies on Netflix. It is directed by Henry Selick and based on the Neil Gaiman’s novel of the same name. You are going to find the theme of this movie quite different than the traditional animated movie and hence I mentioned it here.

The plot of this movie is about an adventurous girl named Coraline whose family has shifted to a new house recently.

Out there, Coraline discovers a gate which opens to new parallel universe where she finds everyone including her family too in a different way. In the start, everything seems too sweet but later on when she discovers more about it things turn evil and more evil with every second.

Coraline shows the struggle of this girl to make things normal again and there is no doubt one of the best movies on Netflix too.

7. Wes Craven’s New Nightmare (1994)

Rotten Tomatoes: 78% IMDb: 6.4/10

Wes Craven’s New Nightmare is a type of American slasher movie directed by of course Wes Craven. He is the same one who directed The Nightmare on Elm Street too. Being one of the most horror movie of all time made it including in the list of Halloween movies on Netflix.

New Nightmare is the seventh movie in this franchise. The villain remains to be the same in this movie named Freddy Krueger in a much menacing and horrific appearance.

In this movie, Freddy starts to attack those people who are making new film on the nightmare and hence involves brutal killings in it. The movie is very horrific and too much to take in for a person who is not used of horror movies.

To spend the perfect Halloween movie, I think it would be great to see this movie for that perfect spooky feel.

8. John Dies at the End (2012)

Rotten Tomatoes: 64% IMDb: 6.4/10

If you are tired of watching conventional horror movies with supernatural kind of things then it would be great to see John Dies at the End for a change. This is a dark fantasy science fiction horror movie directed by Don Coscarelli which is my next pick in the list of Halloween movies on Netflix.

John Dies at the End is based on the David Wong’s novel of the same name and stars Chase Williamson, Rob Mayes and other stars in it.

This is about the encounter of David Wong with the after effects of an unconventional drug which completely changes the human under its influence. Things strangely goes wrong when one of the David’s friend starts consuming it and suddenly David also gets affected by its syringe.

And then starts the weird experience of David with weird people who strangely appears and then disappears too.

9. The Babadook (2014)

Rotten Tomatoes: 98% IMDb: 6.8/10

You cannot call this movie to be a complete horror flick but despite that it is just perfect to fall in the category of Halloween movies on Netflix. The Badabook is an Australian psychological thriller movie with the essence of horror in it too.

The Badabook is directed by Jennifer Kent as her debut movie and based on the short film Monster which was released in 2005.

The movie’s story revolved around the woman named Amelia who is a single parent to her son Samuel as her husband died in a car accident. As Samuel is growing up he is starting to getting afraid of an imaginary monster and turning insomniac. One day after her mother recites her the story of Monster Badabook, he is convinced that it exists for real.

The Badabook is a strangely different story of weird monster and its acceptance by the characters of this film. However, the movie is worth a watch and won’t be a bad pick for Halloween.

10. Creep (2014)

Rotten Tomatoes: 96% IMDb: 6.2/10

And the last one in this list of Halloween movies on Netflix is Creep which is directed by Patrick Brice. Like the first one, The Babysitter, Creep is also an original release by Netflix. Brice not only directed this movie but also acted in it too.

This movie is the directorial debut of Brice but despite that he has done great justice to this movie not only as a director but as an actor too.

In this movie Brice plays the role of a videographer, Aaron who applies for a Craigslist ad by Josef and get hired.

Little did Aaron knew that Josef is a psychopath and that he was going to get into a huge trouble. Josef firstly seemed normal but as the time passes Aaron notices something strange about him but it was too late now and eventually Aaron got killed by Josef in the end.

Go for the online streaming of this movie on Netflix and I am sure it is going to scare the hell out of you for sure.
